A Florida judge has authorized prosecutors to access Tiger Woods' medical records pertaining to his March car accident, which led to a DUI arrest.

A judge has granted prosecutors access to Tiger Woods' medical records concerning his March car accident in Florida, an incident that resulted in his arrest on charges of driving under the influence.
The approval came from Judge Darren Steele, who endorsed a mutual agreement between Woods' legal defense team and the State Attorney's Office. This accord permits prosecutors to obtain records directly from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital, where Woods received care following the crash on March 27.
This development follows a similar arrangement made in May, which provided prosecutors with access to all of Woods' prescription medication records from a specific Palm Beach, Florida pharmacy. Those records pertained to the period from the start of 2026 through the end of March.
Doug Duncan, representing Woods in this legal matter, finalized an agreement with the prosecution that restricts the release of these hospital and pharmacy records solely to the prosecution, law enforcement personnel, state-appointed experts, and the defense team.
Details of the Incident and Arrest
Woods, who recently made his initial public appearance since the widely reported vehicle incident, entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. At the time of his arrest, authorities discovered two prescription painkillers in his possession, and he reportedly exhibited signs of impairment.
The incident on Jupiter Island involved Woods' vehicle striking a truck's trailer before overturning onto its side. The official incident report indicated that Woods was traveling at a high rate of speed on a road with a posted 30-mph limit, and the collision caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to the other truck.
While Woods consented to a Breathalyzer test, which registered no alcohol in his system, law enforcement officials stated he declined to provide a urine sample.
Treatment and Recent Public Engagements
On April 1, Woods received authorization to leave the country to enter an inpatient treatment facility, reportedly located in Zurich, Switzerland.
Following his return from treatment, Woods made his first public appearance late last month, introducing PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp during a significant press conference for the golf organization.
Woods has held a leadership position on the Tour's Future Competition Committee, a role he described as a "privilege" during his short introduction of Rolapp.
